Hudson 6th Graders have been given time to practice in class and will get the opportunity to submit a solo performance of a song for a judge in our GISD Solo & Ensemble April. We will teach them how to introduce themselves, how to sing with a piano, and give them all of the time they need, in class, to recieve one-on-one coaching from the teachers and put forward their best performance. Hudson has a history of excellence in this competition and we plan to help these 6th Graders SOAR this year!
This exciting competition helps students to build confidence, improve vocal skills, and gain valuable experience. It's a great way for young musicians to grow and shine!

On April 8th & 9th, Hudson Choirs will be performing in the 2026 UIL Concert & Sightreading Contest. This is a high-caliber evaluation of skills mastered throughout the school year. At this contest, students perform prepared songs for a panel of prestigious judges, who evaluate the choir on tone, balance, and overall performance. After the concert portion, students also complete a sight-reading challenge, where they sing a new piece of music they have not seen before. This event gives students the opportunity to showcase their music literacy skills, hard work, teamwork, and musical growth.
